Important!
To ensure proper installation of the Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5©, please follow these steps for all terminals you intend to use:
Install via MQL5 Account: You must install the Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© through your MQL5 account. Copying and pasting ex4/ex5 files will not work for purchases made through the MQL5.com Market.
Use Your Broker’s MT4/5 Terminal: Download the MT4/5 terminal directly from your broker’s website and use it to log into your trading account. Avoid using an MT4/5 terminal from a different broker, as this can interfere with trade copying.
Single Account Login: Do not log into another trading account on the MT4/5 terminal while the Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© is running. Doing so will halt trade copying.
Avoid Investor Passwords for the Receiver: Do not use the investor password to log into the receiver account, as it will prevent trade copying.
Symbol Suffix: If your transmitter or receiver account has a symbol suffix (e.g., EURUSD.r), be sure to enter this suffix (e.g., .r) in the "Suffix of the Transmitter Account" or "Suffix of the Receiver Account" setting in the receiver account's configuration.

This guide provides the most common setups for Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© and addresses a variety of issues users have encountered along the way, helping you to troubleshoot and resolve them. Thousands of traders successfully use Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5©, so when copying isn’t functioning as expected, it’s often due to a setup issue. Many common issues and solutions are detailed below, but if your problem isn’t covered, feel free to contact me for assistance.
I’m available to help or review your setup via Anydesk. You can reach me on my MQL5 profile page: https://www.mql5.com/en/users/eleanna74 or by email at info@juvenille-emperor.com.
To avoid potential issues, please read through both the Installation Guide and the Settings/Inputs guide before starting.
Steps to Address Copying Issues with Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5©
Carefully review the following steps:
Ensure you have installed the MT4/5 terminal provided by your broker. Using a terminal from another broker may lead to discrepancies in symbols and contract specifications. This step is crucial to prevent mismatches. Always use the exact terminal supplied by your broker.
If you need to install an additional MT4/5 terminal from the same broker, follow the instructions in this gif. Select a different destination folder during installation to avoid overwriting the existing terminal.
https://c.mql5.com/6/920/MT4_Installation_in_a_different_folder.gifLog into your MQL5 account through MT4/5 >> Tools >> Options >> Community and install Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© on all relevant terminals. Avoid manually copying ex4/ex5 files, as they won’t function for MQL5.com Market purchases. Ensure you remain logged into your MQL5 account for the EA to operate correctly.
Verify that you are using the latest Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© version (MT4 v4.10, MT5 v3.80). To update, delete the older version under Experts >> Market in Navigator, then reinstall via Market tab >> Purchased in MT4 or Navigator >> Market >> My Purchases in MT5.
Restart both your transmitter and receiver terminals, especially if they’ve been running for an extended time. This resolves many common glitches.
Refer to the quick setup video below for guidance. Watch from 1:30 onwards for suffix setup and later sections for special symbol configurations.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYI4xazOMFoWhen using 'Risk per Trade' lot sizing, confirm that stop losses are applied to receiver trades. Without a stop loss, risk calculations can’t be performed, preventing trades from being copied.
If on a VPS, check the receiver terminal’s Journal tab for errors. Note that certain VPS providers, like Zomro, may face restrictions from MQL5.com.
If these steps don’t resolve your issue, try the following:
Uninstall Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© from both terminals.
Restart your VPS or PC, then reopen the transmitter and receiver terminals.
Log back into your MQL5 account and reinstall the EA via the Market tab or Navigator >> Market >> My Purchases. Avoid copying ex4/ex5 files as they are incompatible with MQL5.com purchases.
Reconfigure the transmitter and receiver settings manually. Don’t load old set files from prior EA versions (4.00 MT4 or 3.70 MT5). Update the broker suffixes if applicable, then save a new set file compatible with versions 4.10 MT4 or 3.80 MT5.
If the issue persists:
Check the receiver terminal’s Experts and Journal tabs for messages or errors. Send me full screenshots of both terminals (including Marketwatch windows) and your receiver settings as a set file.
Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© Quick Setup Video
Important! Only the two settings highlighted in the screenshot below need to be filled on the transmitter account side. All other settings should be configured on the receiver account side. Changing any other settings in the transmitter account is unnecessary and will have no effect!
How to Copy Between Two Accounts from the Same Broker Using a Single Terminal?
If your transmitter and receiver accounts are from the same broker, you’ll need to install a second terminal of the same broker on your Windows computer or VPS. This allows you to open both accounts simultaneously in separate terminals. To do this, download the MT4/5 terminal installer from your broker’s website and, during installation, choose a different destination folder within your Program Files directory for the second terminal.
1 Transmitter Trade, Multiple Receiver Copies
If you’re seeing multiple trades in the receiver account(s), it’s likely because you’ve attached more than one Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© on multiple charts within the transmitter or receiver terminals.
Only one instance of the Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© should be attached on a single chart of any symbol in the transmitter account, and similarly, only one instance on a single chart of any symbol in the receiver account. This will copy all trades from all symbols.
Follow the setup steps in the quick setup video, paying close attention after 1:30 for suffixes and the third part for special symbols.
Copied Trades Closing Instantly on Receiver Account
Ensure that only one Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© is attached to a single chart on both the transmitter and receiver terminals. Also, verify that no other copier or multiplier EA is running on any chart in the receiver terminal. The Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© should only be attached to one chart in the receiver account for proper operation. Check the Experts tab logs in the receiver terminal for further details.
Signal Copying Restrictions Now in Place
Due to recent updates from MetaQuotes, copying and multiplying trades from signal subscriptions is now prohibited. As a result, the Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© (as well as other copier tools) can no longer copy or multiply trades from signal subscriptions.
For more information on this change, please visit: https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/473035
Terminal: MQL5 trading and history functions are restricted when the account is subscribed to a signal. If a signal subscription is detected, all MQL5 trading functions, including receiving orders and positions, history, and executing trades, are blocked.
VPS MathRound Issue
Some VPS configurations have a bug where the lot size calculation defaults to 0.01 due to incorrect rounding by the MathRound function. This issue is often linked to the physical CPU used by the VPS. Switching to a different processor on the same VPS server has resolved the problem for many users. It’s best to avoid VPS setups where MathRound does not work properly.
Before switching VPS providers, request a new server from your current provider, as the issue may only affect certain virtual CPUs within their system. Testing the Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© on a local machine or another VPS is also recommended to confirm the source of the issue.

Addressing Missing Trades or Copying Delays
Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© ensures trade copying in under 0.5 seconds, provided optimal conditions are met. These include stable internet, low latency to broker servers, and a capable VPS or computer setup.
If delays or missing trades occur, they are often due to weak communication between terminals or insufficient system performance. Frozen charts indicate that your setup may need upgrading.
Recommended VPS specifications:
2 Terminals: 2 CPU Cores, 4 GB RAM
3-5 Terminals: 4 CPU Cores, 6 GB RAM
7-8 Terminals: 6 CPU Cores, 12 GB RAM
10-15 Terminals: 8 CPU Cores, 16 GB RAM
30+ Terminals: 16-24 CPU Cores, 48-64 GB RAM
Additional VPS considerations:
Latency: Choose a VPS provider close to your broker’s servers to ensure faster execution.
Disk space: Allocate at least 50-100 GB of SSD storage for MT4/5 installations and logs.
Operating system: Use the latest Windows Server version compatible with MT4/5.
For robust VPS options, visit: https://contabo.com/en/vps/
By addressing these factors, you can ensure seamless copying and minimize trade delays.
Simple 1 Transmitter to 1 Receiver Setup - No Suffixes
This video demonstrates a straightforward setup where a single transmitter account copies to a single receiver account, and neither account uses symbol suffixes. A suffix is a letter or group of letters added at the end of a symbol, such as the '.r' in EURUSD.r.
Copy from 1 Transmitter to 1 Receiver - Transmitter with .r Suffix
In this video, we demonstrate a straightforward 1 Transmitter to 1 Receiver setup, where the transmitter account has a .r suffix in its symbols. The suffix is automatically mapped without needing additional settings. A suffix is a group of letters added at the end of a symbol, like '.r' in EURUSD.r. This automatic mapping works only for suffixes with a dot, such as EURUSD.r, not for suffixes like EURUSDecn or EURUSD+.
Copy from 1 Transmitter to 1 Receiver - Transmitter Account with Non-Dot Suffix
In this video, we demonstrate a simple 1 Transmitter to 1 Receiver setup, where the transmitter account uses a + suffix in its symbols. In this case, you need to enter the + suffix from the transmitter account symbols into the Suffix of the Transmitter Account setting on the receiver account. A suffix is a letter or group of letters added at the end of a symbol, such as the .r in EURUSD.r.
Copy from 1 Transmitter Account to 1 Receiver Account - Receiver Account with Suffix
In this video, you will see a simple 1 Transmitter to 1 Receiver setup where the receiver account has a suffix in its symbols. In this case, you must enter the suffix from the receiver account symbols into the Suffix of the Receiver Account setting in the receiver account. A suffix is a letter or group of letters added to the end of a symbol, such as .r in EURUSD.r.
Copy from 1 Transmitter Account to 1 Receiver Account - Same Symbol Suffix Mapped Automatically
In this video, you can watch a 1 Transmitter to 1 Receiver account setup where both the transmitter and receiver accounts use the same symbol with the same suffix, like EURUSD.r. This suffix is mapped automatically, allowing trades to be copied seamlessly without additional configuration. If the dot suffix doesn’t map automatically between the terminals, you need to manually add the .r suffix in the Receiver Account settings. Some brokers may have multiple symbol sets, which can cause this issue.
Suffix of the Receiver Account: .r
A suffix is a group of letters added to the end of a symbol, like .r in EURUSD.r.
Copy from 1 Transmitter Account to 1 Receiver Account - Different Symbol Suffixes on Each Side
This video demonstrates a 2-account setup, where the transmitter and receiver accounts use different suffixes. For instance, the transmitter account uses a + suffix, while the receiver account uses a .r suffix. Both suffixes must be entered in the Suffix of the Transmitter Account and Suffix of the Receiver Account settings on the receiver side. A suffix refers to a letter or group of letters added to the end of a symbol, such as the .r in EURUSD.r. Note that automatic mapping works only for transmitter suffixes with a dot, like EURUSD.r, and not for suffixes like EURUSDecn or EURUSD+.
Copy from 1 Transmitter Account to 2 Receiver Accounts, Transmitter with Suffix
This video demonstrates a setup involving 1 transmitter account and 2 receiver accounts. The transmitter account uses a .r suffix at the end of its symbols, which is automatically mapped onto the receiver accounts, requiring no additional configuration. A suffix is a character or group of characters added to the end of a symbol, such as the .r in EURUSD.r. Note that automatic mapping applies only to suffixes with a dot following the main symbol, like EURUSD.r, and not to other formats such as EURUSDecn or EURUSD+.
Copy from 1 Transmitter Account to 2 Receiver Accounts, 1 Receiver Account with a Suffix
In this video, you can see a setup with 1 transmitter and 2 receiver accounts, where one of the receiver accounts includes a suffix. The suffix of this receiver account’s symbols must be added to the Suffix of the Receiver Account setting within its configuration. A suffix is a letter or group of letters added to the end of a symbol, such as the .r in EURUSD.r.
Copying from 2 Transmitter Accounts to 1 Receiver Account, 1 Transmitter with Suffix
This video demonstrates a setup involving 2 transmitter accounts and 1 receiver account. One of the transmitter accounts uses a .r suffix at the end of its symbols, which is automatically mapped onto the receiver account without requiring any special configuration. A suffix is a letter or group of letters added to the end of a symbol, such as the .r in EURUSD.r. Note that automatic transmitter suffix mapping applies only to suffixes with a dot after the symbol, like EURUSD.r, and not to suffixes such as EURUSDecn or EURUSD+.
Copy from 2 Transmitter Accounts to 1 Receiver Account, Receiver with Suffix
This video demonstrates a setup with 2 transmitter accounts and 1 receiver account. In this configuration, the suffix of the receiver account symbols must be specified in the Suffix of the Receiver Account setting. A suffix is a letter or group of letters added at the end of a symbol, such as .r in EURUSD.r.
Copying from 2 Transmitter Accounts to 2 Receiver Accounts
This video demonstrates a straightforward setup for copying trades between 2 transmitter accounts and 2 receiver accounts.
No Copying Between Transmitter and Receiver Accounts - Receiver Account in Investor Mode
This video demonstrates an issue where copying fails because the receiver account is in investor mode. In this mode, the user logs in with the investor password, which provides monitoring access only, not full trading privileges. When the user switched to the master password, granting full trading privileges, and re-enabled the Auto/Algo trading button (which was disabled due to the password change), the copying resumed without issues.
No Copying - When the Transmitter Broker is a Scam!
Several users have contacted me about copying trades from so-called 'miracle' trading accounts that always show profits on XAUUSD or other symbols. These accounts often involve brokers like LegoMarket, MaxGlobal, Zentrade, GlobalPremier, HanjuGlobal, or AlfaSuccessCorp. However, the reality is that these trades were never genuinely open on the transmitter account—they were fabricated in the trading history with the help of the broker and a scammer. This scam aims to lure unsuspecting traders into opening accounts with these brokers, only to lose their funds. It's important to note that these brokers are banned by MQL5.com and cannot publish signals in the Signals section. Be cautious of brokers and traders promising unrealistic results. If such trades cannot be copied, it is not an issue with your Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© but a result of the scam.
Copying Between 3 Accounts, 2nd Account is Receiver & Transmitter Too
In this video, you'll see a 3-account setup. The 1st account transmits to the 2nd, which acts as both a receiver from the 1st and a transmitter to the 3rd. The 2nd account has 2 Local Trade Copier EAs MT4/5© attached to 2 different charts for this dual functionality.
Copying Special Symbols and Indexes with Different Suffixes and Symbol Names
This video demonstrates a setup where 1 Transmitter Account copies special symbols and US stock market indexes to 2 Receiver accounts. The 1st receiver account includes a .r suffix at the end of symbols like US500 and US30. To ensure proper copying, the .r suffix must be entered in the Suffix of the Receiver Account during setup. For the 2nd receiver account, different symbol names are used—SPX500 for US500 and WS30 for US30. These alternative symbols must be added to the Special Symbols section of the 2nd receiver account's configuration.
Copying Stocks Across Brokers Using Special Symbols Setup
This video demonstrates how to use the Special Symbols setup in Local Trade Copier EA MT5 to copy stocks between different brokers. In the first example with Tesla stock, TSLA.NAS from the transmitter account is mapped automatically due to its dot suffix and copies seamlessly to the receiver account without extra configuration. In the second example with ABBV.NYSE, the Special Symbols settings on the receiver Local Trade Copier EA MT5 are used to correctly map it to the ABBVIE symbol used by the receiver broker.
Magic Numbers to Exclude from Copying
This video demonstrates how to exclude specific trades based on their magic numbers from being copied from the transmitter to the receiver account. For example, these trades could originate from an EA or another source with a particular magic number. You can identify the magic number by hovering over the ticket number in the transmitter account’s Trade or Trading History tab (Expert ID). In the video, a trade from an expert (Manual Trade Panel EA MT4) is first copied as usual. Then, the magic number of the expert is added to the Magic Numbers Not to Copy setting, and subsequent trades from that expert are not copied to the receiver account.
Excluding Symbols from Copying
In this video, you will learn how to prevent certain symbols from being copied to the receiver account. Initially, a trade is opened on the transmitter account and is successfully copied to the receiver. However, after adding this symbol to the Symbols Not to Copy setting in the receiver account, the trade is no longer copied.
Copying Symbols with Custom Multipliers or Lot Sizes
This setting allows you to assign specific multipliers for selected symbols on the receiver account, overriding the universal multiplier.
Custom Symbol Multipliers: This setting allows different multipliers for various symbols, overriding the universal multiplier applied in the receiver settings. If for example a 1 multiplier has been set and in this setting you put: EURUSD2,GBPUSD3.5,USDJPY4 the EURUSD receiver copied trades will be copied with a 2 multiplier, the GBPUSD trades with a 3.5 multiplier and the USDJPY trades with a 4 multiplier, while all other symbols trades will be copied with 1 multiplier. This setting works only when Multiplier or Proportional Multiplier are selected on the Lot Size Type setting above. Also note that any suffixes the receiver account has on its symbols must be included. If for example the receiver account has a .r suffix in its symbols, this setting should be set as: EURUSD.r2,GBPUSD.r3.5,USDJPY.r4

How to Copy Trades with Deriv Volatility Indexes at 0.001 Lot Sizes
To successfully copy trades with lot sizes smaller than 0.01, such as Deriv's Volatility Indexes, ensure that you adjust these four settings to 0.0001. This adjustment will enable the copying of trades with 0.001 or 0.0001 lot sizes. You can find the corresponding set file available here.
Error of Setting Timer in MT4
If you encounter this error while attempting to attach the Local Trade Copier EA MT4© to your MT4 chart, the EA will fail to initialize properly and will be removed from the chart. This issue originates from the MT4 terminal and is not caused by the Local Trade Copier EA MT4©. To resolve it, restart your MT4 terminal and reattach the EA to your chart. If the problem continues, restart your computer or VPS, then reopen your MT4 terminal and attach the EA again.
Trade is Disabled
If this message appears in the Experts tab of your receiver MT4/5 Terminal/Toolbox window, it could mean:
Trading is disabled by your broker. You will need to contact your broker to activate trading for your account.
The symbol being copied in the receiver account is not available due to a suffix added by your receiver broker. To fix this, open MT4/5 >> View >> Symbols, check the available symbols used by your receiver broker, and include the required suffix in the 'Suffix of the Receiver Account' setting in the receiver Local Trade Copier EA. For instance, if the symbol is EURUSD.r, you should enter:
Suffix of the Receiver Account: .r
Unknown Error
When this message appears in the Experts tab of your MT4/5 Terminal/Toolbox, restart your computer or VPS and try attaching the Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© again. If the issue continues, it’s likely due to restrictions imposed by your broker on your trading account. This error often occurs in prop firm accounts where expert advisors and algorithmic trading are prohibited, enforcing manual trading rules or competition policies.
Error: initialization failed with code 0
If this error appears in the Journal tab of your MT4/5 terminal, it indicates that your computer or VPS has undergone an operating system upgrade. As a result, you need to reinstall your MQL5.com Market purchases.
To fix this, log in to your MQL5 account via MT4/5: go to Tools >> Options >> Community, then navigate to the Market tab in the Terminal window (MT4) or the Market folder under Navigator (MT5). Locate your purchases and click the Install button to reinstall them.
Error 12152
The error message you’ve encountered indicates a problem with sending a request to download the product, with error code [12152] pointing to a network-related issue.
Steps to resolve the issue:
Check Internet Connection: Ensure your internet connection is stable and reliable, as a good connection is essential for downloading products from the MQL5 Market.
Restart MT4/5: Close and reopen your MT4/5 platform. A simple restart often fixes connectivity problems.
Update MT4/5: Confirm that your MT4/5 platform is updated to the latest version to avoid compatibility issues.
Adjust Firewall/Antivirus: Check your firewall or antivirus settings to ensure MT4/5 is not being blocked. Add an exception if necessary.
Retry Installation: After completing these steps, attempt to reinstall the product. If the issue persists, it could be a temporary MQL5 Market server problem; try again later.
Error 1003
To resolve this error, try the following steps:
Check Your Internet Connection: Ensure that your internet connection is stable and properly functioning, as connectivity issues can disrupt the download process.
Restart MT4/5: Close and reopen your MT4/5 platform to refresh the connection and fix any temporary issues.
Firewall/Antivirus Check: Make sure that your firewall or antivirus is not blocking the download. Disable them temporarily and try downloading the EA again. Once successful, add MetaTrader 4/5 and the MQL5 Market to your exceptions list.
Reinstall MT4/5: If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall MT4/5. Be sure to back up important data and settings beforehand.
Error 500
An 'Error 500' generally suggests a problem on the server side. For MQL5 Market and MT4/5, this could be due to server overload, ongoing maintenance, or a temporary issue with the MQL5 Market servers.
Follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the error:
Check Server Status: Visit the official MQL5 website or forums to verify the server status. If maintenance or issues are reported, you may need to wait until they are resolved.
Verify Your Internet Connection: Ensure that your internet connection is stable. If needed, restart your router or switch to another network to rule out connectivity problems.
Update MetaTrader: Ensure your MT4/5 platform is updated to the latest version. Outdated software may cause compatibility issues with MQL5 Market servers.
Review Firewall and Antivirus: Check if your firewall or antivirus is blocking access to MQL5 Market servers. Temporarily disable them and check if the issue is resolved. If so, add exceptions to your security software.
Retry the Installation: If the problem is related to server issues, it might resolve itself over time. Try reinstalling the product at a later time.
Initializing Failed with Code 1
If you receive the "Initializing Failed with Code 1" error, ensure that you are logged into your MQL5 account. Then, make sure you’ve installed everything correctly through the Market tab in your Terminal window (MT4: Purchased, MT5: Market >> My Purchases), rather than copying and pasting the ex4/5 file from another terminal.
Keep yourself logged into your MQL5 account at all times for proper functionality of your Market purchases.
Restart your MT5 terminal and retry your setup.
If the issue persists, there might be a problem with your MT5 terminal. Uninstall it, download the custom branded version from your broker’s website, install it, and reinstall your MQL5 Market purchases, then retry the EA setup.
