Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© is a local trade copier for MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5. It allows traders to copy trades between multiple MT4 and MT5 terminals running on the same Windows computer or Windows VPS.
One or more terminals act as the Transmitter(s), while one or more other terminals act as Receivers. When a trade is opened, modified or closed on the transmitter account, the receiver accounts can copy the corresponding trade according to their individual settings.
Because communication takes place locally between terminals, no external cloud copying service is required.
Yes. Free demo versions of the MT4 and MT5 products are available so you can test the EA before purchasing.
The demo allows you to install the EA on your own Windows computer or VPS and test its main functionality in your own trading environment.
See the Free Demo page for download links and instructions.
The demo version can be used for a limited testing period. The current demo period is 4 hours at a time.
When the demo period expires, you can reset the demo according to the instructions provided on the Free Demo page.
Important: Do not reset the demo Global Variables on a prop firm challenge or funded account unless you fully understand the consequences. Always test the EA on suitable demo accounts before using it on a live or evaluation account.
The EA can automatically copy trades between connected transmitter and receiver terminals after the initial setup and configuration.
The receiver settings determine how copied trades are handled, including lot sizing, filtering, risk management and other trade-management options.
Yes. A transmitter account can be a read-only or investor-password account because the transmitter only needs to read the trading activity from that account.
A receiver account must have normal trading access because the EA needs permission to open, modify and close trades.
The EA supports multiple transmitter and receiver terminals. The practical number of terminals depends on your computer or VPS resources and the number of charts, EAs and other applications running at the same time.
For larger setups, make sure your Windows computer or VPS has sufficient CPU, RAM and stable connectivity.
Yes. Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© can copy forex trades between supported MT4 and MT5 accounts, including accounts at different brokers. Each receiver can use its own lot sizing, risk-management, trade-filtering and symbol-mapping settings. The same software can also copy other instruments supported by the connected MetaTrader accounts, subject to broker trading conditions and symbol specifications.
The MT4 and MT5 versions are available separately, with each version normally priced at $50 through the MQL5 Market.
Each purchased version includes 20 Windows activations. Each activation applies to one Windows PC or VPS rather than to an individual MetaTrader terminal or trading account, so multiple terminals/accounts can run on one activated machine.
Rental options are also available for traders who prefer a temporary license.
No. The standard purchase is a one-time payment and does not require a monthly subscription or recurring software fee.
Activations allow you to activate your purchased Local Trade Copier EA on different Windows computers or Windows VPS environments.
Each product includes 20 activations. An activation is associated with a Windows computer or VPS, not with an individual trading account or MetaTrader terminal.
This means you can run multiple MT4 and/or MT5 terminals and trading accounts on the same activated Windows computer or VPS without using a separate activation for each terminal or account.
For example, if you have five MT5 terminals running on the same Windows VPS, you need only one activation for that VPS—not five separate activations.
Your 20 activations can therefore be used across up to 20 different Windows computers or VPS environments. This is useful if you operate multiple VPSs, use more than one trading computer, or need to move your trading setup to a different Windows environment.
Important: Activations are tied to the Windows computer or VPS environment. They are not assigned individually to your trading accounts, MT4/MT5 terminals or broker accounts.
If you want to copy trades between MT4 and MT5, you need the corresponding MT4 and MT5 versions.
For example, an MT4 transmitter copying to an MT5 receiver requires the MT4 version on the transmitter terminal and the MT5 version on the receiver terminal.
Yes. Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© supports copying between the different combinations of MetaTrader terminals:
MT4 → MT4
MT5 → MT5
MT4 → MT5
MT5 → MT4
This makes it suitable for traders who use different platforms, brokers or account environments.
If you want to copy trades between MT4 and MT5, you need the corresponding MT4 and MT5 versions.
Yes. You can use the EA to copy trades between accounts at different brokers, provided that the relevant symbols and trading conditions are configured correctly.
Different brokers may use different symbol names, contract specifications, minimum lot sizes and trading conditions, so receiver-side settings and symbol mapping may sometimes be required.
Yes. The EA can be used to copy trades between live and demo accounts, provided the terminals are correctly installed and configured.
This can be particularly useful when testing a trading strategy or copier configuration before using it on live accounts.
The EA includes symbol mapping options that allow you to connect transmitter and receiver symbols when brokers use different symbol names.
This can also be useful when brokers add prefixes or suffixes to their symbols.
Yes. The EA provides options for working with broker-specific symbol prefixes and suffixes.
If the transmitter uses one symbol name and the receiver uses another, the symbol mapping settings can be used to establish the correct relationship.
Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© is designed for fast local trade synchronization and can copy and close trades in under 0.5 seconds under suitable conditions.
Actual copying speed depends on factors such as the communication between terminals, broker-server latency, computer or VPS performance, terminal workload and the trading environment.
No. Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© is designed to operate with relatively low computing requirements.
However, resource requirements increase as you run more MT4/MT5 terminals, charts, indicators and Expert Advisors.
A VPS is not mandatory if your computer can remain connected to the internet and running your MetaTrader terminals continuously.
A Windows VPS can be useful when you need your trading terminals to remain online 24/7 or when you want the terminals to operate close to your broker's servers.
The required resources depend on the number of terminals and what each terminal is running. As a general guideline:
2 terminals: 2 CPU cores, 4 GB RAM
3-5 terminals: 4 CPU cores, 6 GB RAM
7-8 terminals: 6 CPU cores, 12 GB RAM
10-15 terminals: 8 CPU cores, 16 GB RAM
More than 30 terminals: 16-24 CPU cores, 48-64 GB RAM
These are general guidelines rather than strict requirements. Actual resource usage depends on the number of charts, indicators, Expert Advisors, symbols and trading activity running in each terminal.
The EA is designed for fast local trade synchronization, but copying performance depends on the trading environment.
For very high-frequency strategies, broker execution speed, terminal workload, VPS location, network latency and the number of trades being processed can all affect the final result. For best results, copied trades should generally remain open for at least 4–5 seconds.
The EA can copy trades during news events, provided that the broker and trading account permit the relevant trading activity.
However, news trading can involve increased spreads, slippage, execution delays and temporary changes in liquidity. The copier cannot eliminate these market and broker conditions.
Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© provides multiple methods for determining the lot size of receiver trades, including:
Same lot size
Fixed lot size
Lot size multiplier
Multiplier by balance or equity
Proportional by balance
Proportional by equity
Proportional by free margin
Proportional multiplier by balance or equity
Risk per trade based on balance
Risk per trade based on equity
Risk per trade based on free margin
Risk per trade in money
Lot size per 1,000 balance or equity
Specific lot size sequences
This allows each receiver account to use its own position-sizing method rather than simply copying the transmitter's lot size.
Yes. Receiver-side settings allow different accounts to use different lot sizes or risk-management methods.
For example, one receiver can use the same lot size as the transmitter, while another can use a multiplier or proportional sizing method based on its own account balance or equity.
Yes. The EA provides several risk-based lot-sizing methods.
Risk-based methods calculate the receiver trade size according to the selected risk setting and require an appropriate Stop Loss to determine the potential loss of the trade.
Yes. Receiver-side controls can be used to limit the lot size of copied trades according to the account's requirements.
This can be useful when different receiver accounts have different broker limits or risk restrictions.
Yes. One of the advantages of receiver-side configuration is that the same transmitter strategy can be copied to accounts with different risk profiles.
For example, a personal account, a prop firm account and another trading account can all receive the same trading signals while using different lot sizes and risk-management settings.
Yes. Symbol filtering allows you to control which trades are copied to each receiver.
This is useful when different receiver accounts trade different instruments or when you want to exclude specific symbols.
Yes. You can use Magic Number filtering to control which Expert Advisor trades are copied.
This allows you to copy trades from one EA while ignoring trades generated by another EA or manually opened positions.
Yes. Trade comments can be used as part of the filtering configuration when you need to distinguish between different groups of trades.
Yes. Trade volume can be used as a filtering condition to control which trades are copied.
Yes. The EA provides scheduling options that allow copying to be enabled or disabled during selected periods.
This can be useful when you only want trades copied during particular trading sessions or when you want to pause copying outside your normal trading hours.
Yes. Stop Loss and Take Profit levels can be copied and managed according to the receiver's configuration.
Yes. The EA supports copying of pending orders, subject to the trading conditions and configuration of the receiver account. You can also choose not to copy pending orders, but copy them as market trades when they are triggered and opened in the transmitter account side.
Yes. Changes to supported trade parameters can be synchronized between transmitter and receiver terminals according to the EA's settings.
Yes. The EA supports copying partial trade closures so that receiver positions can be adjusted when only part of the transmitter position is closed.
Yes. Reverse copying allows the receiver to take the opposite trading direction from the transmitter.
For example, a transmitter Buy can be copied as a Sell on the receiver account.
Reverse copying can be useful for testing alternative trade-management approaches or applying a different trading logic to another account.
Yes. Trade splitting allows a transmitter position to be distributed across multiple receiver positions according to the configured settings.
The EA provides trade-management options that can be used to reopen closed receiver copied trades instantly, at the same or better price and at a specific time, if their corresponding transmitter trades are still running.
The exact behavior depends on the selected receiver settings and the trading conditions of the account.
Yes. The EA includes several account-protection features designed to help traders control risk on receiver accounts.
These include drawdown controls, daily limits and emergency account protection.
Yes. Drawdown-based controls can be used to suspend copying when a specified drawdown threshold is reached.
This allows traders to define account-level limits rather than allowing copying to continue regardless of the receiver account's performance.
Yes. Daily drawdown protection can be configured to help prevent further copying after a specified daily loss level is reached.
Yes. Daily profit protection can be used to stop further copying after a specified daily profit target has been reached.
Emergency Account Protection is designed to provide an additional safety mechanism for receiver accounts.
When the configured protection conditions are triggered, the EA can close receiver trades and disable further copying according to the selected settings.
Yes. Receiver-side settings allow individual accounts to use their own risk and protection parameters.
This is particularly useful when managing multiple accounts with different balances, risk limits or trading objectives.
Yes. Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© operates locally on your Windows computer or VPS and can be used to copy trades between supported MetaTrader accounts.
However, each prop firm has its own rules regarding trade copying, account management and third-party software. Traders should always check and follow the specific rules of their prop firm before using a trade copier.
The EA provides receiver-side controls such as lot sizing, execution delays, trade filtering and other trade-management options that can help you configure each account according to its own requirements.
Yes. Multiple receiver terminals can be configured to receive trades from one or more transmitter accounts, subject to the practical limitations of your computer or VPS.
Each receiver can have its own lot sizing, filtering and risk-management configuration.
Yes. Each receiver account can be configured independently.
This means that the same trading strategy can be copied to multiple accounts while each account uses its own position sizing and risk-management settings.
No. Prop firm rules vary and can change over time.
It is the trader's responsibility to verify the current rules of each prop firm before using a trade copier, especially regarding account management, third-party software, trade copying, news trading and other restricted activities.
MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 are primarily designed for Windows, and the Local Trade Copier EA is designed to run in Windows-based MetaTrader terminals.
If you use a Mac, a Windows VPS or another supported Windows environment may be required depending on your setup, like a Windows emulation software like Parallels.
Yes. The EA supports configurations involving multiple transmitters and receivers.
This can be useful when managing several trading strategies or accounts and directing their trades to different receiver accounts.
Yes. A single transmitter can copy trades to multiple receiver terminals.
Each receiver can use its own lot sizing, filtering, risk-management and trade-management settings.
Yes. Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© can be used to synchronize trades between your own accounts.
It can also be useful when managing different brokers, account sizes, trading strategies or risk profiles.
Yes, provided that the relevant account owner, broker and service rules permit the arrangement.
The receiver-side controls can be useful when different client accounts require different position sizing or risk-management settings.
Yes. MetaTrader account permissions, broker restrictions and MetaQuotes rules can affect what an EA is able to do.
For example, certain account types, trading permissions or MQL5-related restrictions may limit how an EA can interact with a trading account.
